Impact story
You have the incredible power to create meaningful change in the world through your generous giving. We want to share a story exemplifying the power of mobilization—one that has far-reaching influence in Tibet. Believers are scattered in this vast mountainous landscape with little to no regular fellowship. Foreigners are not allowed to visit this area due to security.
K and TS are elders in a remote village of the Kheng people. They both work at a hospital, K just retired as a cook, and TS does the laundry. TS has been a faithful believer for over 20 years, and her prayer is for the spiritual harvest of her people. They join with other leaders in the capital weekly for fasting and prayer for their people.
For the second time, some Kheng leaders from the capital and the elders decided to organize a retreat. Last year, they did it quietly with only a few people in attendance. But this year, they wanted to invite more people. Wisely they approached the local official to receive permission. The permission was granted due to their excellent standing in the village and good reputation.
They expected 30 people to come from nearby villages. The house where the retreat would take place was small. But more than 50 came, traveling from far and walking many hours to reach the retreat. Together they fasted and prayed, fellowshipped and received teaching, and faith strengthened and encouraged. At the retreat, R, who is from another village, felt called to travel to different villages to share the gospel and follow up with new believers. He was supported with funds to help with transportation and the purchase of Bibles for believers.
On the last day of the retreat, K and TS, and the believers attending decided to cook for the whole village and invite them for dinner. They wanted to share with every home. They were thrilled that thirty-three attended, including some local officials. Together they ate dinner and celebrated God’s mercy and outpouring of love. For many, it was their first time hearing the Gospel and Christian music in their own language.
This experience gave the believers new resolve to continue in their walk with Christ and share the Good News with other fellow Kheng people.

Front-line Testimony
The “Pray for Bhutan” participants pray for permission to be granted for a retreat. Praise the Lord, the local official gave the elders (a retired cook and his wife, a lady who does laundry for others) permission to gather people from the surrounding villages to meet in their home, a freedom they seldom have. More than 50 believers who were often isolated were able to gather and fellowship together.
